In alignment with its corporate sustainability goals, Buzzi Unicem’s Texas division sought to accelerate its decarbonization efforts. However, progress was slowed by the high energy intensity of its facilities and limited internal resources dedicated to renewable energy strategy. Space constraints and the carbon demands of large-scale “powerhouse” sites added further complexity, highlighting the need for a creative, well-informed approach to emission reduction.
In partnership with ESA, Buzzi Unicem USA explored tailored clean energy solutions that aligned with their operational realities. ESA conducted detailed assessments of key sites within Buzzi’s Texas portfolio, identifying opportunities to reduce carbon emissions through thoughtfully designed on-site solar strategies. With ESA’s technical advisory, the Buzzi team was equipped to evaluate options with clarity and confidence, prioritizing impact while navigating spatial and technical limitations.
ESA also supported Buzzi in extending its roadmap beyond the initial sites, providing scalable insights to inform future phases of its renewable energy strategy.
